What sets the Sierra Valley apart? The Sierra Valley Art + Ag Trail, for sure! Tour the valley's growing display of barn quilts while enjoying a fall festival unlike any other on Sat., Oct. 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Travel the Sierra Valley Art + Ag Trail to enjoy great views of the many Sierra Valley barn quilts gracing homes, store frontages and historic barns. While out on the trail, event goers can also visit market farms, working ranches and a festive pumpkin patch. Artisans will have wares on display of every color, texture and material including wood, paint, glass, ceramic, metal, fiber and more. Three "trailhead" information centers will be stationed along the way at the Sierra Valley Grange in Vinton, Sierra Valley Farms on A-23 in Beckwourth and the Sierraville School on Hwy 89. To cap the day, the Plumas-Sierra Cattlemen's Association will serve a hearty meal at the Sierra Valley Grange Hall in Vinton from 4 to 6 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to purchase a Sierra Valley Art + Ag Trail Passport for $20, to support the Sierra Valley Barn Quilts organization. This keepsake souvenir features iconic Sierra Valley images and provides added fun as participants can collect stamps while traveling the trail. And one added bonus--passport holders will be entered into a raffle drawing to win cool prizes. For more information, visit SierraValleyBarnQuilts.org or call 530-428-5016. See you out on the trail!
