Community Firewise Meeting - Happening Tonight! Oct. 13 at 5 p.m. at the Sierraville School. Ryan Tompkins, the UC Cooperative Extension Forestry and Natural Resources Advisor for Sierra County will talk about the scope of the Firewise program and the next steps to become a nationally recognized Firewise USA Site. Eric Petterson from the USFS station, will give a brief update on the fuels reduction projects that are being funded in the region. Please note that Sierra County is still requiring masks for indoor gatherings. Speakers will be separated from the audience by enough distance that they will be unmasked while speaking.
Free Walk-In Covid-19 Testing at Loyalton High School Gym
Oct. 14 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. – Students, staff and families
Oct. 15 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. – All community members
PCR Testing (polymerase chain reaction) and/or Rapid Antigen available.

Sierra Valley Groundwater Sustainability Plan
A public workshop will be held on Sunday, Oct. 17 at Sierra Christian Church in Beckwouth from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. In person or via the zoom link below. The Public Review Draft, an overview of each chapter, and instructions on how to comment can be found here.
