Sierra County Fire Protection District #1 has a current vacancy for a commissioner.
The Commission is made up of seven individuals charged with the responsibility to meet those fire and EMS services either directly through volunteers (working out of fire stations in Calpine, Sattley, and Sierraville) or service contracts with the City of Loyalton’s Fire Department and Truckee Meadows Fire District. Commissioners are appointed by the Sierra County Board of Supervisors and meet on the second Tuesday of each month at the Sierraville Fire Station.
Potential applicants are asked to submit an Application for Membership on Advisory Board or Commission available at the Sierra County Clerk’s Office website.
